In the spirit of the American Independence Day, we decided to add a little patriotic flavor to our Friday Funk. Our President, Barack Obama, is no stranger to the latest technologies. We all know about his love for his Blackberry. His web site touts a long list of social media sites that Obama is a member of, aptly named “Obama Everywhere“. And he even has a video channel on YouTube.
But today, we’d like to share a little peek into the Official White House Flickr Photostream.
It’s pretty cool to catch a glimpse of our President in action. And who doesn’t enjoy checking out what’s happening with Bo the dog?
So far, they’ve uploaded photos from the first 100 days, Michelle Obama, events from May and June, and even an enticing peek at photos from Behind the Scenes.
While looking for a fun photo to share with our viewers from this patriotic photostream, the following result made me giggle:

Oh well, we were hoping the White House had a little fun going on… or at least a little “funk”! We wish a very happy 4th of July to all our viewers out there, and here’s hoping that we all get to see photos in the Flickr Photostream of President Obama gettin’ funky on 4th of July.

Just a thought, buy why “Friday Funk”? Why are Friday’s funky? Seems to me that Mondays are more funky than Friday. When one is “in a funk” it is generally not a good place, take the web definition of funk “a state of nervous depression; “he was in a funk” wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn – Definition in context” or even the second google result for “define funk” which reads “funk: Definition, Synonyms from Answers.com
funk n. A state of cowardly fright; a panic. A state of severe depression. A cowardly, fearful person.

So why is your Friday Blog titled Friday Funk? Are you in a funk because you have the weekend off, and don’t get to work?

Very thought provoking comments! But to answer your question… in this context we are referring to Funk in the “fun” sense of the word, more in reference to the definitions you may find in the Urban Dictionary. But I believe Michael Scott says it best in “The Office” when he said, “Funk is the problem… and the solution!”
