Friday Funk: Using Social Media for Charity Work
October 16th, 2009 by Allison Kulage
Normally our Friday Funk is light hearted and fun, but this Friday we’d like to share something with a little more purpose. On October 1st, to help kick off the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we posted a blog on a project that we’re happy to donate our time on to help raise money for breast cancer charities.
Today, on Twitter, someone tweeted a great link to a site that I’d like to share for those of you out there interested in giving a little back to the community as well. Beth Kanter’s Twitter Landing Page (as she’s named it) offers a wealth of information on how nonprofits can effectively use social media for their cause.
So today, we’d like to say thanks to Beth Kanter for sharing this info with the world and invite you to check out her site, her blog, and the resources she shares. Here’s proof that Twitter can be used for good!

Thanks so much for the thank you and the link! The concept of a Twitter Landing page is something I learned from Pistachio who is the Twitter Maven. Thanks again.
